A Present
This is a scarf I finished a couple of weeks ago for a very good friends birthday. I couldn't post it before then incase she saw it on the blog.
She was opening her present this week with great trepidation as she knew I had crocheted 'something'.
Ha! I think she actually liked it! My daughter and sister have ordered scarves from me now.

Taking shape
I had my nephew Sam around here this afternoon.... wet old day out so I suggested he sort out my afghan squares so that he could see how the rug was going to look.
This is the sort of job he loves doing with his nana..but she is away travelling at the moment so I pretended for half an hour that I was Annie!
He did a great job of balancing the lights and darks of the various squares. I think I may need to consult him on the layout before I sew it all together!
My boy showing no interest whatsoever! He is used to my mess and creations all over the house.

Sam made me get my skates on and do the last layer around a square so we had the perfect rectangle! And he had the stop watch on me for the last white edging. Took me 11.30 mins! Kind of shows the work involved for one square!!
The Crafty Girls
Had a lovely catch up with a group of women who formed a craft group a few years back. Over the years, others have joined.
I knew most of them from our kids kindy days. Most of the mums have a long and lovely history together and the group proved to be about much more than just a craft group. They have been a support for each other over the years and there is always lots of laughter and stories.... I can forsee them as 80 year olds, still having these marvellous catch ups.
There were a mix of crafts that evening. Two of the mums had three sons heading off to Scout Jamboree later in the year and were doing a mad card making effort. One of the other mums was working on a cross stitch for one of her sisters triplets as a baby present...only 6 years after the birth :)
Great night, lots of food, wine and laughs ... and yes, we did manage some craft work!
