Afghan Square ......At last!!!

Seriously am questioning my lack of ability here but persevered and churned out my first granny/afghan square tonight.

It was amazing how once you got into it, you are just off and racing.  I felt like an old pro by the end of the second colour.

Although crochet blankets seem like a mass of holes, there is some amazing amount of wool that goes into them!

The tutorial I followed in the end was this one:

Over the weekend I did make this odd scarf thing, well the first few rows anyway.  Very scratchy to the touch so I will recycle that wool into the granny squares.
The scarf started off OK but grew odd lumps out the size and then I magically seem to reduce it in width!??!
